Veterans Day honors all American veterans (living and dead, wartime and peacetime) specifically remembering service members who died while on active duty.

Established as Armistice Day in 1919 by President Woodrow Wilson to mark the end of World War I hostilities (which ceased at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918).
Congress amended the holiday in 1954—signed into law by President Dwight D. Eisenhower—changing the name to Veterans Day to honor American veterans of all wars.

Listed here are the family and friends of Greencastle Presbyterian Church whom we wish to honor for their great sacrifice.
